Winners of 2017 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards – Metalworking Industry Announced

A five-month long search for the winners of the 2017 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards – Metalworking Industry culminated in 38 winners announced on March 13 in Shanghai. Among the winners were TRUMPF (China) Co., Ltd., BWT Beijing Ltd., Inno Laser Technology Corporation Limit, IPG Photonics, AMADA (China) Co.,Ltd., United Grinding (Shanghai) Ltd., etc. who shared their big moments with the panel of judges, experts from industry associations and media representatives at the 12th edition of this annual event.
After a 5-month nationwide Entry & Nomination process, close to 38 products from 110 entries across 9 different categories which are ①Metal Cutting Machine Tools (Turning, Milling, Boring, Grinding, Gear Machining) ②Metal Forming Machine Tools (Sheet Metal, Wire and Tube Processing Machines)③Special Manufacturing Technology (Laser Cutting, EDM, PAM, ECM) ④Tools, Abrasives, Clamping Devices, Measuring Tools and System ⑤CAD/CAM/CAE Software, CNC system and other processing system ⑥Functional Tools and Accessories (include Lasers)⑦Fluid Coolant and Lubricant⑧Automation⑨Other products or technologies were chosen for the final competition. If we look closely at the selected products and technologies for this year, we can see that Laser technology and 3D metal printing become the most popular categories among this year's award. The winning technologies show that the intelligence, composite processing, high-efficiency and environmental protection are undoubtedly becoming the key words and trends this year.
This year, we do as we did last year: we have combined the industrial laser innovation awards with metalworking. We have also added – “The Innovators of The Year”, to reward a person or team who have led the development of a new product or technology, and the voting process has also been opened up to seek votes from the industry as a whole using Wechat and online voting..
Based on the popularity from the judges and end users, as well as leveraging on its own two scoring technologies -Laser Melting and Laser Cladding, TRUMPF Group, Laser Technology Division, Additive Manufacturing competence center is selected as the "Innovators of The Year". TRUMPF Group's TruPrint series define the new standard of laser 3D printing, which impress the market with their compact appearance and stable system function.
Honesty, fairness and transparency have won Ringier Technology Innovation Awards wide attention and recognition, according to award organizer Ringier Trade Media Limited.
