(Shanghai, PRC – November 3, 2011) - International Metalworking News for China – the leading China market metalworking industry magazine published by Ringier Trade Media – has recently announced the winners of the 2011 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for the Metalworking Industry.Today at MWCS 2011, 36 winning companies featured their innovative products and technologies across 9 categories, including: machine tools for turning, milling, boring, grinding, gear cutting; metal forming machine tools, sheet metal, wire and tube working machines; special manufacturing technology; tools, grinding, clamping devices, measuring tools & systems; CAM/CAD software; functional components; coolants and lubricants; machining tools for energy-saving and emissions reduction; others. This year’s Awards program is officially supported by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., the organizer of Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show 2011 (MWCS 2011).

The grand Awards ceremony was held at MWCS 2011 in the Shanghai New International Expo Center on November 3, 2011. More than 120 high-level delegates from the winning companies, such as StarragHeckert, DMG, SECO Tools, ABB, Mitsubishi Electric, Wuhan HuaGong, Maschinenfabrik Berthold Hermle, Agie Charmilles, participated together with Awards the judges, VIP buyers attending the tradeshow, Ringier magazine readers and industry media. Winners received awards for their innovative products and technologies which drive development in China’s metalworking industry.

Since being launched in 2006, Ringier’s Technology Innovation Awards has successfully developed together with China’s booming metalworking machinery industry. Mr. Mike Hay, President of Ringier Trade Media, explains: “The Innovation Awards have been designed to drive innovation in China’s metalworking industry. As a celebratory platform, the purpose of the Awards are to encourage, acknowledge and reward those individuals and companies that have introduced and developed a new idea, a new methodology, a new product or a new technology for production efficiency, cost effectiveness, user convenience, which might result, for example, in energy saving and more responsible clean manufacturing.”.

In addition, continued Mr. Hay: “Ringier’s judging process for the Awards is completely neutral, objective and fair. It is the independent panel of experts – the judges who play the key role in the selection of the winners, not Ringier. These judges cannot be bought, and we cannot be bought. Nominations are open to everybody in the industry and the final winners are selected solely on their merit – and nothing more. And, for the first time, the 2011 Awards included online voting which fielded votes from end-users of the products that were nominated. This really opened the voting process to the general public –which further improved the neutrality of our voting process. Let me state: no other Awards ceremony is as Neutral as the Ringier Innovation Awards! We stake our reputation on it.”

The 2011 Awards experienced a dramatic increase in the number of “nominations” compared to 2010.

Furthermore, the addition of a new category meant more companies walked home a winner in 2011. The new category named Machining Tools for Energy-saving and Emissions Reduction was added to emphasize the growing importance of environmentally responsible manufacturing. The winning product in this category was Auto Grinding Oil Pre-coat High Precision Filtration System from Shanghai 4NEW Control Company Ltd. The technology features automatic functions of powder feeding and sludge recovery which dries and recovers oil that can be recycled.

Mr Feng Guanghong, one of the judges, Deputy Director of Institute of Metallurgy Process, Central Iron & Steel Research Institute (CISRI) has given Ringier’s Innovation Awards strong praise, “Ringeir’s Innovation Awards, so far, is definitely one of the best industrial awards to promote the most up to date foreign and domestic achievements. These Awards work as a credible channel for sharing and promoting new technology and products in a very positive way.”
