The Innovation Awards have been designed to drive innovation in the China metalworking industry.

After 5-month nationwide Entry & Nomination, close to 80 products from 70 companies were chosen for the final competition. Following a strict selection process of independent panel of judges, the 2015 Innovation Awards Selection continues to use online voting. We also had a record of 30,000 online votes from our website and Wechat channels. Eventually, the judges selected 40 innovative products across 8 different categories. The 40 winning companies featured their innovative products and technologies across 8 categories, including Machine Cutting Tools for Turning, Milling, Boring, Grinding, Gear Cutting; Metal Forming Machine Tools for Sheet Metal, Wire and Tube Working Machines; Tools, Grinding, Clamping Devices, Measuring Tools & System, CAD/CAM Software & CNC System, Automation, Functional Components, Coolants & Lubricants, other products or technologies.

The competition was held every year since 2006, accompanied by China’s booming metalworking industry for ten years now. The purpose of the Awarding is to encourage, acknowledge and reward those individuals and companies who have developed new ideas, methodologies, products and technologies for production efficiency, cost effectiveness and user convenience, which results in energy saving and a more responsible clean manufacturing process in the metalworking industry.

The award ceremony was held at Shanghai Marriot Hongqiao Hotel on November 5^th, 2015. Winners received awards for their innovative products and technologies which drive development in China’s metalworking industry.

There are 80 entries submitted from 70 international and local companies. Though the number of companies and entries slightly decreased, the degree of technology innovation has hit the record high. Throughout the selection result, metalworking industry has witnessed new developments in technology.

The new highlight is that more whole machine enterprises got recognized in the CNC system category. “CELOS Control System from DMG MORI SEIKI Machine Tools Trading Co., Ltd. makes machine tools smarter and easier to operate.” Xu Zhengping, Former Minister of Marketing Department, Shanghai Machine Tool & Tool Group, thinks this new smart CNC system will satisfy the users’ all-round manufacturing demands from concept to finished product.

2016 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards – Metalworking Industry will be brought forward to April 12^th. High Performance Machining Technology Conference 2016 will be held during the same period on April 12-13. The Innovator of the year will be added and recognize an Individual who has made significant contributions to the industry. This person will be nominated by the industry itself along with the judging panel.
