Coatings and Ink China – the leading market magazine published by Ringier Trade Media – has recently announced the winners of the 2014 Ringier Technology Innova-tion Awards for the Coatings Industry. Ringier Technology Innovation Awards are re-garded as the most important awards in China’s coatings industry.
Ringier Technology Innovation Awards encourage, acknowledge and reward those individuals and companies who introduce and develop a new idea, a new method, a new product or technology. Ringier Trade Media organizes the Innovation Awards to reward innovators.

The grand Awards ceremony and cocktail party was held at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Parkview on May 8th, 2014. More than 200 high-level delegates from winning companies such as LANXESS, TROY Specialty Chemicals, BYK Solutions ,3M China and Air Products together with professionals from authoritative associations, delegates from the China Coatings Summit, Ringier magazine readers and industry media at-tended the Awards ceremony. Winners shared their latest innovative technologies which drive development in China’s coatings industry.

This year’s Technology Innovation Awards, we have 60 nominating products from 40 differ-ent companies. The independent panel of judges eventually selected 25 innovative pro-ducts as winners across 7 different categories. The Award is committed to recognizing the excellent companies who have made contributions for the advancement of indus-try through technological innovation, improvements in a product’s efficiency, or creating a new marketing opportunity.

In 2013, the China coatings industry production capacity was over 13 million tons, valued RMB 316 billion, 10.4% growth, 13.9% profit growth comparing to the previous year. It is said to reach its peak level according to the statistics. Green coatings, such as powder coatings, waterborne base coatings, radiation cured coatings, have become irreversible trend as environmental concerns are  glob-al and growing. In addition, a major objective of performances of resin, pigments and addi-tives, as well as spraying and processing equipment is to save energy, reduce process time and minim-ize pollution. For instances, winning products like Emulsion based on FORMASHIELD Technolo-gy, Super cure resin, Luminous Metal Effect Pigments and Centralized Dust Extraction System meet the objective abovementioned. As such, in the Coatings industry, winning products not only contribute the industry advancement but also build a better environment.
