• Ringier Innovation Awards - Pumps & Valves Industry - 2011 Winners Announced（2012-03-07）

  (Shanghai, PRC –Ma 7, 2012) – World Pumps China – China’s leading pumps industry magazine, published by Ringier Trade Media Ltd. has announced the winners of the 2012 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for the Pumps and Valves Industry. Today, at IE expo 2012, 19 winning companies featured their 20 innovative products and technologies across 4 categories: Centrifugal Pumps, Positive Displacement Pumps, Jet Pumps, and Ancillary Products and Other Product Types. The award winners were selected from 105 entries that were submitted by companies across China.
  The Grand Awards ceremony was held over dinner in the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai on March 7, 2012. More than 400 high-level delegates from the winning companies, such as Xylem China, Grundfos Pumps, Flowserve, KSB Shanghai, and Nanjing Lanshen Pumps, participated together with the Awards judges, IE expo exhibitors, Ringier magazine readers and industry media. Winners received awards for their innovative products and technologies which drive development in China’s pumps and valves industry.
  The 2012 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for the Pumps and Valves Industry is co-organized by Ringier Trade Media and its magazine World Pumps China together with MMI-ZM Trade Fairs (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and its trade show – IE expo 2012. This is the first time that the Ringier Technology Innovation Awards were awarded to companies in the pumps and valves industry. Since 2006, Innovation Awards have been awarded annually across key China industries including the plastics, metalworking, personal care and cosmetics, packaging, and industrial coatings industries.
  Mr. Michael R Hay, President of Ringier Trade Media, explains: “This event has been designed to drive innovation in China’s pumps and valves industry. As a celebratory platform, the purpose of the Awards are to encourage, acknowledge and reward those individuals and companies that have developed a new idea, a new methodology, a new product or a new technology for production efficiency, cost effectiveness, or user convenience, which results, for example, in energy saving and more responsible clean manufacturing.”
  Mr. Eugen Egetenmeir, Managing Director of Messe München GmbH, who represented MMI-ZM Trade Fairs (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. stated, “Our target is to build a platform exchanging information and technology around this industry, and letting all players share the innovative inputs to develop, to elevate the industry’s thinking and to enhance individual companies’ competitiveness.”
  Winners of the award were selected from the 45 nominated companies. Some winners included: Xylem China with their product Flygt Experior; KSB for their product Vitalobe; Flowserve for their product Durco Mark3 ISO Chemical Process Pump; and Grundfos Pumps‘ Prefabricated Pumping Station. Local winning companies included Nanjing Lanshen Pumps for their WQS Series Diving Sewage Pump; and Liancheng Group for their SFOW Series Water Works Specially Used Single-stage Double-suction Centrifugal Pump.
  Following a strict selection process, the independent judging panel, from China’s authoritative associations, universities and research institutes, selected the 19 companies and 20 products as the final winners of the Award this year.
  The winners of this year’s Awards demonstrate not only a trend of technological innovation in the global valves and pumps industry, but also the unprecedented drive of local companies to use innovation as a means to develop their market in China. The winning products feature new industry trends, such as: intelligent control, high operational effectiveness and cost-efficient maintenance.
  Traditionally, valve-related products are energy inefficient. As such, the Innovation Awards made "energy-saving" attributes an important characteristic in judging winners and also created a special category "Best Energy-saving Performance". 6 products won the award in this category.
  It is estimated that in the next a few years China’s investment in water treatment -for the purpose of managing sewage— and China’s requirement for using water to generate power, will exceed that of both Europe and Africa. In addition, pumps and valves-related products will experience tremendous demand from the booming construction and real estate markets. This puts even a greater emphasis on companies to develop more innovative and efficient pumping products and systems.
  Regarding the judging process of the Awards, Mr. Hay concluded: “The judging process for Ringier Technology Innovation Awards is completely neutral, objective and fair. It is the independent panel of experts – the judges who play the key role in the selection of the winners, not Ringier and IE expo. These judges cannot be bought, and we cannot be bought. Nominations are open to everybody in the industry and the final winners are selected solely on their merit. Let me state: no other Awards ceremony is as Neutral as our Awards! We stake our reputation on it.”
