Ringier Trade Media Ltd. and its magazine - International Plastics News for China have recently announced the winners of the 2013 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for the Plastics Industry. Following a strict selection process of the independent judge panel, with reference to the results of online voting, 31 winning companies featured their innovative products across 8 categories. More than 100 high-level delegates from winning companies such as DOW Chemical, Evonik, Haitian International, and INCOE participated in the grand ceremony and gala dinner, together with the Awards judges, magazine readers and industry media.

This year, the Plastics Industry Innovation Awards attracted 95 entries from 89 international and local companies. Nominates  from raw material  and auxiliaries sector amount up to 20 units, and most of the award-winning products are high-performance engineering plastics ,environmentally-friendly plastics and bio-based materials, which are widely welcomed in the plastics market  in recent years. This also shows the Ringier plastics innovation awards stay very close to the plastics market in China and are being driven by user's actual demands. For the processing machinery,as the Ringier plastic innovation award advocates, low power consumption and high efficiency production has been the focus for manufacturers, which  is  absolutely indispensable for environment protection and sustainable development in the plastics industry.

Since its launch in 2006, the Ringier Technology Innovation Awards have encouraged, acknowledged and rewarded those individuals and companies who have introduced and developed a new idea, a new method, or a new product or technology. The event is composed of three steps: nomination, judging and the award-presentation ceremony. “The bottom line is that these Awards are designed to drive innovation in China’s plastics industry”, said Mr. Mike Hay, President of Ringier Trade Media.

Mr. Hay also emphasized the difference between the Ringier Technology Innovation Awards and other industry awards present in the market by stating: “One of the most important elements in any Awards Program is that it must be honest, it must be fair, and it must be transparent and that it truly identifies -in our case – Innovation. Our judging process is completely neutral, objective and fair. First of all, it is the independent panel of experts – the judges who play the key role in the selection of the winners that is one important feature that makes the Ringier Industry Innovation Awards special and different from other such programs in China. These judges cannot be bought, we cannot be bought – nominations are open to everybody in the industry and the final winners are selected solely on their merit – and nothing more. Moreover, Ringier Plastics Innovation Awards is the only Award that not only focuses on the suppliers who introduce the products or technologies but recognizes end users that show Innovation in their manufacturing process and or product design.”

The panel of judges and market professionals who presented the Awards to winners included Mr. Liu Jianguo, Deputy Secretary-general of Plastic Trade Association of Shanghai, Mr. Liu Depu, Vice president & Secretary, Shanghai Mould Industry Association, and Mr. Zhou Maocai, specialist of China Plastics Processing Industry Association
