10th Ringier Technology Innovation Awards-Plastics Industry winners announced

A five-month long search for the winners of the 2015 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards – Plastics Industry culminated with 38 awardees on October28 in Shanghai, China. The awardees shared their big moments with the panel of judges, experts from industry associations and media representatives during the 10thanniversary of this prestigious award.

This year, the awarding ceremony was held in conjunction with Plastics Design and Processing Summit 2015 and Paint-Free Technology Conference 2015 on October 28-29.
After five months of entry submission and nomination, close to 80 products from 68 companies were chosen for the final competition. Products cover 9 categories: Raw Materials & Additives; Injection Molding; Extrusion & Blow Molding; Key Components; Auxiliary Equipment; Molds; Automation; Measurement & Inspection; and Other Innovative Products/Technologies.
From the entries, 38 products under the various categories were finally nominated as winners by the independent panel of judges, as well as through online voting by plastics end-users. High efficiency, flexibility, energy-saving and automation are important factors that helped determine this year’s awardees. Compared to the previous years, more product submissions were directed toward applying technology for targeted niche sectors, such as materials and processing systems specifically for medical products.
Honesty, fairness and transparency give Ringier Technology Innovation Awards a wider attention and national recognition over the years, according to Ringier Trade Media Limited, the organizer of this yearly event.
“The most important elements in any awards program is that it must be honest, it must be fair, and it must be transparent; and in our case, that it truly identifies ‘Innovation’,” noted Mike Hay, President of Ringier Trade Media. “Thus, it is the independent panel of experts – the judges who play the key role in the selection of the winners, which is the one important feature that makes this award special and different from other award-giving programs in China.”
Next year, the 2016 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards – Plastics Industry will be held on March 17 to coincide with the Plastics & Rubber and Innovative Materials Application Summit to be held on March 17-18. A new award category – The Innovator of the Year – will be added to recognize the individual who has made significant contribution to the industry. Nominees will come from the industry and screened by the panel of judges.
