Winners of China’s Food and Beverage Innovation Awards announced

A five-month long search for the winners of the 2015 Ringier Technology Innovation Awards – Food and Beverage Industry culminated in 25 winners announced on August 27 in Guangzhou. Among the winners were Bloomage Freda Biopharm Co., Ltd., Shanghai Lithy Food Materials Co., Ltd., DSM (China) Limited, Hanovia, PSG (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., Dow Chemical Pacific (Singapore) Co., Ltd. Etc., who shared their big moments with the panel of judges, experts from industry associations and media representatives at the 9th edition of this annual event.
This year, the awards ceremony was held in conjunction with Functional Beverage and Nutritious Food Summit 2015 on August 27-28 in Guangzhou.
After a 5-month nationwide Entry & Nomination stage, close to 60 products from 48 companies were chosen for the final competition. Products consisted of five categories which are
- Food & Beverage Ingredients-Nutraceuticals-Processing-Flavoring-Coloring-Preservation
- Food & Beverage Packaging
- Food & Beverage Processing
- Food Safety (F&B Testing & Measurement)
- Others
This year’s Food & Beverage Industry Technology Innovation Awards, combined with Packaging Technology Innovation Awards, has resulted in a good increase in the number of entries and reflects the importance of the awards program in the industry. The awards attracted close to 60 products entries submitted by 48 companies. The independent panel of judges eventually selected 25 innovative products as winners across 5 different categories.
The judging criteria indicates that high efficiency, flexibility, energy-saving and high automation are some of the important criteria in the food & beverage industry. For example, the Automatic aseptic Brick filling machine from SHANGHAI PRECISE PACKAGING CO., LTD., Bizerba GLM-Ievo weigh price labeling system from BIZERBA, Automatic Packing and Logistic System from HAVER TECHNOLOGIES (Tianjin) LTD. match the industry’s needs, that will help food & beverage companies improve productivity.
In the fast growth category of functional food and beverage, the products that can deliver benefits such as enhancing immunity, reducing blood pressure, lowering blood sugar, cholesterol and improving your energies are popular in the market. Therefore, under the food & beverage ingredients: functional category, the winners were Gaba relax TM Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) from Bloomage Freda Biopharm Co., Ltd., Krill oil from Shanghai Lithy Food Materials Co., LTD, High Bioavailability Curcumin from Wacker and DKSH (China) Co., Ltd.
Honesty, fairness and transparency have won Ringier Technology Innovation Awards wide attention and national recognition, according to award organizer Ringier Trade Media Limited.
“The most important elements in any awards program is that it must be honest, it must be fair, and it must be transparent, and in our case, that it truly identifies ‘Innovation’.” noted Mike Hay, president of Ringier Trade. “Thus it is the independent panel of experts – the judges who play the key role in the selection of the winners, which is the one important feature that make this award special and different from other programs in China.”
