SABIC offers a series of bio-based renewable resins and compounds with wide application in eyewear and smart eyewear fields.

1) SABIC’s certified renewable polycarbonate, is part of the company’s TRUCIRCLE™ portfolio and services. Based on SABIC’s cradle-to-gate peer-reviewed LCA study, use of SABIC’s LEXAN polycarbonate resin can potentially result in reductions in carbon footprint of up to 61% and fossil depletion reduction of up to 35%.

2) SABIC’s bio-based LNP™ compound could be applied in consumer electronics industry with high performances helping achieve lightweight, cost reduction and efficiency improvement, while it could also contribute to the carbon neutral goals of customers.

SABIC’s bio-based ULTM™ resin (PEI) could be widely applied in the eyewear applications. Compared to its fossil-based grades, it has the potential to reduce up to 10% carbon footprint, and it has also received ISCC+ certification.
