Combining processes to machine transmission gears
VL 200 GT was developed primarily with a focus on transmission gears. Transmission gears are ideal parts to be machined on the VL 200 GT. EMAG combines the processes of hard turning and grinding. This in turn ensures a much shorter grinding process, which results in a lower unit cost, and through faster cycle times. Meanwhile, the machining quality also benefits from the combination of turning and grinding: surfaces with an average peak-to-valley height Rz of less than 1.6 micrometers can be created reliably with the VL 200 GT.
