The Rotation Optic is used to sequentially weld rotationally symmetric components. A hollow-shaft motor which is integrated in the optical unit moves an cantilever arm (rotor) around the component. At the end of the rotor, the laser beam is deflected with an adjustable mirror towards the center. When the rotor rotates, this defines a plane in which the components are welded. The optics is exclusively operated by fiber lasers, through which a collimated beam is guided. The spot diameter is adjustable in approximately 0.5 mm steps from 0.5 - 5 mm. The Rotor rotates with a maximum speed of 1000 rpm around the components. The optics can therefore be used for both contour and quasi-simultaneous welding techniques.
