SHIELDEX™ silica is a special ion-exchanged and production technology silica by innovative Grace silica platform, which designed to meet the demand for superior corrosion inhibition performance for metal protective coatings. It is not classified as toxic, Non-carcinogenic alternative pigment which contains only technically unavoidable traces of heavy metal originating from the raw materials.

GB30981-2020 was implemented to regulate Chrome and VOC in metal protective coatings from 2022. Grace technical team conducted the innovative application development for SHIELDEX™ silica in new environmental formulation to meet the regulation, the values are recognized by coating customers:

ü  High anti-corrosive performance to replace chromate pigments in coil coatings on different substrates for construction applications.

Synergist for Phosphate/Polyphosphate pigments to improve coating performance. i.e waterborne DTM system.
