BioToLife is the latest innovation from BASF, developed in collaboration with a Japanese startup and University.  It is a unique glycolipid (specifically Sophorolipid) naturally fermented by a special strain of Starmerella bombicola yeast. This ferment extract has the special function to unsettle the biofilm formed by microorganisms on surfaces, resulting in a very efficient microbial removal, constructing an environment that favors the rebirth of a self-sustaining microecosystem with a new mechanism.

The demonstrated mechanism of action brings its efficacy for biocontrol in cleansing application, which allows BASF to deliver exciting natural solutions to match the Rinse Off Wellness trend, by regulating the overgrowth of microorganisms on skin, scalp and oral; a new way to support Microbiome re-balance claims.
