Covestro has developed a new bio-based polyurethane material Baycusan® eco E 1001 (polyurethane-99), which uses more than 50% renewable polyester monomer as raw material, meets the definition of ISO16128, is a derivative from natural sources, and the natural index is 0.6. When applied to make-up products, this film-forming agent can form a strong, breathable and water-resistant film on the surface of skin or eyelashes to enhance the makeup setting effect. It fills in the blank of no natural film-forming agent available for natural make-up products. It is the first natural derivative film-forming agent with excellent performance in the world.
After testing, The performance of Baycusan® eco E 1001 is comparable to that of synthetic film-forming agents, and much better than that of natural film-forming agents such as pullulan, xanthan gum, etc. In mascara, Baycusan® eco E 1001 shows good water resistance, anti-smudge, washable by warm water functions. It has excellent resistance to water and scratch.
Compared to the synthetic film forming agent in mascara, Baycusan® eco E 1001 also has the following performance advantages:
• water resistance at 37° C and at room temperature
• Excellent water resistance
• Up to 10 hours anti-smudge
• Easy to remove Based on this raw material technology,
Covestro has developed a series of long-lasting natural cosmetics to help environmental protection and clean beauty.
