AEROSIL® Fumed Silica VP RS 92 is newly launched Easy-to-Disperse (E2d) fumed silica products. With an innovation in the manufacturing process for AEROSIL® fumed silica products allows paint and coating manufacturers to eliminate an entire production step. The omission of bead milling reduces machine usage, processing time, and costs. The innovation opens up the possibility of combining wetting and dispersion — two steps that, until now, were carried out in separate systems (dissolver and bead mill) — into one process step in the dissolver.

Compared to traditional fumes silica, E2D AEROSIL® VP RS92 shows same rheology control properties, can effectively provide anti-sagging and anti-settling effects. Due to its E2D property, its application area in coatings can be extended widely, like: not need to prepare master batch of fumed silica in production, post-addition is possible for better sagging control, etc.
